Seasonal
The Gulf Coast runs on two plumbing seasons with a long stretch in between. Winter is short and mild until it isn't — the January 2025 freeze dropped Mobile into single digits, broke a main in Fairhope and put both counties under boil-water notices, and the houses that came out worst were the empty ones. Hurricane season runs through the end of November, and the plumbing questions after a storm are about what's in the water, not only what's in the yard. Between the two sits the snowbird calendar, where shutting a house down for the summer and opening it back up in the fall are both real procedures with real ways to get them wrong. These guides run on that calendar instead of a generic one.
